RNase inhibitor is a specific ribonuclease (RNase) inhibitor found in human placenta. Its mechanism of specific RNase inactivation is: it forms a 1:1 noncovalent complex with RNase molecules, causing RNase inactivation and thereby protecting RNA. This product is a recombinant murine RNase inhibitor expressed and purified in soluble form in Escherichia coli, capable of broadly inhibiting various types of RNases (RNase A, B, C) to protect RNA from degradation. Compared with human-derived RNase inhibitor, this product lacks the two cysteines in human protein that are highly sensitive to oxidation, and therefore has higher antioxidant activity.

Applications

This product can be used in any application whereRNase interference may exist to prevent RNA degradation, such as:

1. First-strand cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR (usable in both PCR and qPCR systems);

2. Protection of RNA during in vitro transcription/translation (such as viral in vitro replication systems);

3. Inhibition of RNase activity during RNA isolation and purification processes;

4. RNase protection assays.

This product does not interfere with other commonly used enzymesduring RNA preparation or analytical applications.

Unit definition

InhibitionThe amount of enzyme required to inhibit 50% of the activity of 5 ng RNase A is defined as one activity unit (U). RNase A activity is quantified by inhibition of Cyclic 2′,3′-CMP hydrolysis to 3′-CMP.

Shipping and Storage

Store at -25°C to -18°C, transport with ice packs.
